Nightcap

Description

A bad night at the Lyrebird. Unheard of. How dreadful, darling!

Sydney’s most glamorous hotel does not have bad nights. The champagne is cold, the guests are beautiful, and nothing is ever allowed to go wrong.

So when Hugo Marchant, a wealthy Englishman, is found dead in the hotel pool at the height of the season, well. How sad. How terribly unlucky. Everyone agrees it’s a tragedy, and everyone orders another drink.

Detective Sergeant Robyn Calder doesn’t do tidy. The coroner has signed it off, the hotel wants it forgotten, and everyone who matters would rather she went home. Which is exactly why she isn’t leaving until she knows what really happened at that pool.

All smiles. All suspects.

The first in a new crime series introducing Detective Sergeant Robyn Calder.
