Another Tomorrow is a novel based on the story of an Omani boy who is personally selected by the Sultan of Oman during a visit to the boy’s village. In vivid images Another Tomorrow describes his ascent into the military hierarchy of the Sultan’s armed forces. Secret, nocturnal visits to the Royal Palace cast a different light on the private life of a reclusive monarch. While studying in England an unexpected meeting with the boy’s former best friend forces him to reconsider his past actions. Haunting visions of the Omani desert and scorching sun finally make him realise the true meaning of ba’eed ‘annak, far away from you…Another tomorrow is also the reflection of a boy’s initiation in the wake of an increasing widening gap between tradition and modernity; forbidden pleasure and hedonism; a tainted soul and unconditional love. In the unravelling of human instinct survival is no longer the key motivator.
