Description
A photographic gallery of thirty coins from the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Sixty distinct faces range from Achaemenid gold and Hellenistic silver to Parthian and Sasanian portraits, a Byzantine coin found in Iran, and early Islamic issues. Concise captions identify dates, materials and accession numbers while retaining uncertainty where the records differ. The photographs preserve the objects’ surviving surfaces and collection marks.
