Description
Edgar and the Dragon’s Door
What if two seemingly opposite truths could both be true?
In the divided land of Endor, two worlds stand across a great chasm, each certain that only its own truth can prevail. Between them waits an ancient door that no king, scholar, or warrior has ever been able to open.
Beside it waits Morris, a great dragon with wings of night, amber eyes, and a kindness few have ever stayed long enough to discover.
Then Edgar arrives.
Small, round, endlessly curious, and unafraid to ask the question everyone else has missed, Edgar begins to notice strange things hidden in plain sight: AND inside HAND, OR inside DOOR, and a gate concealed within a DRAGON’s very name.
To open the Dragon’s Door, Edgar must discover what lies between AND and OR, between one truth and another, and between what something is and what it may yet become.
Written in lyrical verse and brought to life through luminous, magical illustrations, Edgar and the Dragon’s Door is a story of riddles, wordplay, courage, friendship, wonder, and the quiet power of seeing beyond what first appears to be true.
Created for children ages 6–10, the story is playful and accessible for young readers while offering deeper ideas for parents, grandparents, teachers, and families to explore together. Questions of identity, possibility, difference, belonging, and understanding are woven naturally into the adventure.
As part of The Chronicles of Edgar the Egg, the story encourages Ambidextrous Thinking by bringing language, logic, imagination, pattern recognition, and possibility together within the adventure. Young readers encounter hidden words, shifting meanings, riddles, opposites, and ideas that can be approached from more than one direction.
Sometimes the key to a locked door is not something you hold.
Sometimes it is the possibility you are willing to see.
Every answer opens another door.
