Description
Jose Maria de Lacoizqueta, parish priest of Narbarte, botanised his own Navarrese valley for thirty years and produced this catalogue of everything that grows there wild: species by species, with the Basque names alongside the Latin. It is among the finest local floras of nineteenth-century Spain, and the Basque nomenclature makes it a linguistic document as well as a botanical one. This is a faithful print-on-demand facsimile of the 1883 Madrid edition, reproduced in full from a library copy. The historical text is reproduced without modification; only the format, margins and legibility have been reset for modern printing.
