Description
Photojournalist Dani Lace senses a kaleidoscope of memories in the wood near her new home, at the foot of the Sussex Downs. Children’s laughter echoes through the branches of the trees, but something darker lingers.
Whilst her husband, Charles, grapples with the realities of keeping his London restaurant afloat, Dani befriends Walter, the old gardener, and is drawn deeper into the realm of Jack-in-the-Green.
Looking on with amusement, Rupert, local historian and epicure, prompts and guides with his non-conformist ideas, culminating in his re-interpretation of a traditional children’s nursery rhyme, with sinister and far-reaching implications.
