This work is a combination of related topics with a focus on the modern phenomenon of charitable organizations collecting Zakat and distributing it through modern secular channels. While this does not appear to be controversial at first, there are several key areas of ethical and juristic criticism that are overlooked when considering this phenomenon. Central to this book is the original Fatwa regarding Charitable Organisations by Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad reproduced here. The original fatwa was published in English by his students, compiled through summarizing translations and elaborations by Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad in lectures delivered in the UK between the years 1996-2002CE.
