Description
The Vickers Viking airliner entered service in the years following the Second World War, playing an important role in re-establishing commercial civil aviation links between Great Britain and continental Europe.
This comprehensive work on the defining aircraft of its generation is presented in two volumes, researched by author Rayner Kittle with the valuable assistance of the Blackbushe Heritage Trust. It provides an extensive account of the Viking’s development, from the drawing board through to the individual histories of all 163 aircraft built.
Volume 1 details the design, development, production and operational service of the Vickers Viking. It is comprehensively illustrated with colour and black & white photographs, diagrams, route maps and timetables.
The work is split into two volumes, the second of which is a comprehensive record of every individual aircraft and its history.
