Description
A flood tears through Cherokee Valley. Environmental scientist Esther Blackfox knows it wasn’t an accident. Among the wreckage, she finds government documents and a flash drive linking the disaster to a corporate plan to mine the land. Thirty-seven people are dead, including her best friend.
As toxins spread through her body, Esther begins to see what her ancestors saw. Her grandmother’s warnings return. The land speaks. Memory resurfaces—not as history, but as evidence.
Set in Appalachia and grounded in Cherokee tradition, The Water Remembers is a story of land, loss, and responsibility. It asks: when history is erased, who pays the price?
