The Nightmare That Stirs Beneath the Waves.
During a genealogical tour of New England, a lonely young antiquarian decides to take a cheap, detour bus through the isolated coastal town of Innsmouth, Massachusetts. Once a bustling, wealthy seaport, Innsmouth is now a decaying, half-deserted ruin avoided by all its neighbors. Decades earlier, a ruthless sea captain forged a sinister pact with an ancient, aquatic race dwelling beneath Devil Reef. But as night falls and the local hotel doors are locked from the outside, the traveler realizes his presence has been detected, launching a frantic, claustrophobic
