The Ring and the Rose

Description

She bought herself a ring to reclaim her future. Then the past answered.

Nineteen-year-old Hannah Rose begins her sophomore year at Temple University determined to leave heartbreak behind. After the boyfriend she thought might propose ends their relationship instead, Hannah buys herself the engagement ring she had once imagined receiving from him.

Inside the band, she has two words engraved:

Still mine.

The ring is supposed to be a reminder that her life belongs to her.

Then a family-history assignment leads Hannah to a colonial portrait dated 1775.

The woman in the painting shares her name.

And the resemblance is impossible to ignore.

What begins as an academic curiosity soon becomes something Hannah cannot explain, drawing her toward a mystery buried for more than two centuries. When the past finally reaches back, Hannah discovers that history is far less distant than she ever imagined.

Stranded in a world she knows only from books, Hannah must uncover why she was brought there, what connects her to the woman in the portrait, and whether the ring she chose for herself holds the key to finding her way home.

But the past has its own rules.

And Hannah Rose may already be part of its story.
