Description
Jess Grant is an orphan, raised among criminals, and destined for a life on the fringes of society. Her mentor, the hardened criminal David Seabright, has recently left prison, and plans to use Jess in a plot against his enemy, Lord Revelstone. Yet Seabright’s plot goes awry when Jess falls in love with Revelstone’s nephew, the young Paul Sidney. These circumstances pitch Jess into a complex series of events, involving the theft of valuable jewels, the premature death of the butler or Revelstone house, and a treacherous plot by a member of Lord Revelstone’s household.
