Joaquín Manuel Fos, the Valencian silk manufacturer who brought the secret of moiré finishing to Spain, describes the whole process: the calender and its machinery, the preparation of the silk, the drugs and dyes, and the workshop practice. Illustrated with twelve engraved plates by Juan Barcelon and an engraved title-page.This is a faithful print-on-demand facsimile of the Madrid edition (viuda de Ibarra, 1790), reproduced in full from a library copy in A4 format.
