in India, a lot of poor people worry, which is infectious. The law is on our side, but most people do not follow it and there is no strict rule.I attempted to use real-life examples to argue against the practice of extracting dowry. Some women are being harassed and some poor people are selling their agricultural land daily. You will find stories, such as one about difficulties in a woman’s life and her meeting an honest man, who married her without taking any dowry. You will also find a painful story about a lady and her eight-month-old daughter being killed for dowry, as well as a father’s painful story about having to sell one bissa (a little part of the land that can be sold) of land for his daughter’s marriage. Also, you will be able to read about the men’s fathers who married their boys off to brides without demanding any amount of money as dowry.
