Description
Benjamin Beddome served as pastor of the Baptist church in Bourton-on-the-Water in Gloucestershire, England for fifty-five years. Despite calls to move to more prestigious and larger churches he always remained faithful to his original calling.
He wrote hundreds of hymns, generally penning one to accompany each sermon, some of which are still sung today. Each hymn faithfully tracks a theme from the sermon and they are all devotionally rich.
This brief anonymous memoir originally accompanied a volume of Beddome’s published sermons.
