From 1941 to 1945, Guernsey transformed into a fortress, brimming with mines and explosives, all laid out to thwart any imagined Allied invasion that never came. Enter the No.1 Pioneer Battalion of the 319th Infantry Division, who were tasked with this elaborate defense strategy.
