Description
What does it mean to hold onto a ‘dying’ language and art form in an era that discards books by the library? In his poetry book, In the Old World, acclaimed Russian poet Yuri Kolker seeks to bring his lifelong sketches to perfection and set the ultimate period to his lyrical journey. Balancing cultural nostalgia with an uncompromising, ironical look at human nature, this collection weaves together memories of a Soviet past, European landscapes, and intimate dialogues with eternity. It is a rare, unshielded look into the soul of a true literary craftsman.
