Julia McTrill is a multi-disciplinary creator, science fiction author, and composer based in Northampton, UK. Born into a large, musically gifted family — her mother a mental health nurse and her father a mechanic — Julia's creative journey began with music before expanding into the literary world. Writing under the pen name Julia McTrill, she brings a unique blend of technical insight from her background in computer software and hardware engineering to her debut technothriller, Through The Veil — a 2026 Independent Author Awards Finalist in both Science Fiction and Thriller. Her storytelling is a fusion of action, romance, and the "hard science" she loves from classics like Star Trek and Dune. Beyond the page, Julia is an accomplished music artist and composer. Her original soundtracks and cinematic scores are designed to be an immersive companion to her science fiction novels. By blending software engineering logic with creative storytelling, she creates a unique 'Method Writing' experience for her readers. A qualified dance teacher and nail artist with a passion for crafting, she currently balances her creative pursuits with her role as a software tester. When not writing or composing, Julia enjoys life with her husband and two daughters — crafting, playing MMORPGs, and exploring the worlds of other authors.
