A mysterious railway map leads Maya Vale, her younger brother Leo, junior museum guide Amira Khan and Tick, a sharp-tongued clockwork raven, to an abandoned station hidden beneath the Meridian Museum.

At exactly 11:47 p.m., a midnight-blue train emerges through a solid brick wall.

Its destination is Tomorrow.

But something is terribly wrong. The Last Ticket—the one ticket that keeps every reasonable future open—has been stolen. Routes are disappearing from the railway map, passengers are forgetting that alternative futures ever existed, and the train is being forced towards one final destination.

Unless the thief is stopped, one person’s chosen future will become the only future available to everyone.

As the Outside Reader-Agent, the child becomes an essential part of the adventure. They must read closely, preserve details that vanish from characters’ memories, compare timetables and witness statements, decode railway signals, calculate durations when clocks disagree, distinguish forecasts from confirmed facts and decide which evidence is reliable.

Every numbered chapter ends with a StoryLock Challenge that depends on understanding the story—not simply completing an unrelated puzzle. Each correctly solved investigation unlocks a Truth Fragment. Collect all sixteen fragments, examine five possible suspects, identify red herrings and establish the culprit’s means, motive and opportunity before the train reaches its final destination.
