Description
An unwelcome move uproots Nolan Pool, an overly curious boy, from the desert to a remote island in Maine. His single mother inherited an inn in her hometown of Porpoise Island, a town she had never mentioned to him before. And although Nolan and his mother are very close, she, for reasons unknown, never told him anything about her past or their family’s history. So, of course, Nolan is bursting for answers! Now, teamed up with his new local friends, Nolan uncovers island conspiracies—Monsters! Ghosts! And the vampires of the sea, Mermaids!—and finds that the answers connect back, way back, to troubling mysteries surrounding his Pool family ancestry.
Oh, right, and Nolan can talk to animals.
