11,300 years ago Stone Age people made deer masks that they cast into the lake. Thousands of years later they were excavated by archaeologists creating an ancient mystery.

This is a story of our narrator Vlad Flea, his friend Clum the wolf and their Stone Age family navigating their way to Yorkshire for the new hunting season. Their adventure shows how early humans survived after the Ice Age in a time of change and uncertainty and how the masks and pendants found at Star Carr may have been used. Vlad and the Stone Age is a beautifully hand-illustrated story that shows archaeological artifacts in context. Along the way the adventurers pass through Creswell Crags and see the cave art left by those who were ancient to them.

There will will be food, danger and celebrations, but will they become a snack for a hungry cave bear?
