From football crowds and family birthdays to friendship, grief, childhood memories, love, loss and the strange little moments that refuse to leave you alone, each song begins with a story before being stripped back into something that can be sung.
Alongside the lyrics are The Sound in My Head notes: thoughts on tempo, mood, arrangement, instruments and the different musical directions each song might take. Several songs have also been explored through contrasting demonstration recordings, showing how the same writing can live in very different genres and styles.
Volume 1 includes twelve original songs, the stories behind each one, full lyric sets, musical thoughts and arrangement ideas, four additional language versions of We Are the Chorus, access to demonstration recordings and an insight into how story becomes song.
