Fresh out of the hospital and short on funds, a young physician seizes the chance to cover a remote country practice for three months. The Pennsylvania hills promise rest and easy work—until a cyclist is found dead on a lonely road, his body torn in a way no ordinary attacker could manage. As more victims fall and the locals retreat behind bolted doors and whispered superstition, the newcomer refuses to credit the old country legends.
