Description
Dismas loses his family to fire as a boy and is taken in by a band of hill bandits. He learns to steal, to fight, and to keep a careful count of everything the empire owes him. Loyalty, love, and a hard-won search for a third way between rebellion and surrender pull him forward. Betrayal, blood, and the grinding machine of Roman power drag him down.
His road ends in the cells of the Antonia Fortress and then on a hill outside Jerusalem. There, beside a man who says almost nothing, a thief who believes he is past saving asks only to be remembered.
The Thieves of Golgotha is a gritty historical novel of guilt, mercy, and the question of whether anyone is truly beyond reach.
Written by an emergency physician and U.S. Air Force veteran, it is a story about the people history leaves at the edges, and the moment one of them is seen.
