Description
On Thanksgiving morning, June wakes to a world without color. The hills, the rooftops, even Milo’s breakfast have become black outlines and white spaces. Grandma Alma knows where to begin: her Color Lantern is missing ninety-six Color Prisms. June has until dinner to help bring them back.
Follow June, Milo, and Pip the hummingbird through the house, around the neighborhood, and into old family memories. A prism waits in every scene. Some turn up in familiar places; others appear when someone tries a color that nobody expected.
The Thanksgiving That Lost Its Colors combines one continuing story with 96 black-and-white illustrated scenes. Read the short passage, find the hidden prism, and color the picture in your own way. There are no wrong colors in this book.
With a large US Letter format and a scene-by-scene pace, this read-and-color adventure gives children a story to share and pictures to make their own. Keep it beside the pencils for a quiet afternoon, read a little together, or bring it to the table while Thanksgiving dinner is cooking.
Recommended for ages 6–10, with adult reading support for younger children. Crayons and colored pencils are recommended. The book is printed on both sides of the paper; markers may bleed through.
