Description
This sweep through church history focuses on those groups who, since New Testament times, have sought to organise their churches solely by following the pattern of Scripture. Rejecting the man-made traditions of the dominant church, they were often isolated communities. E H Broadbent travelled extensively through Europe, meticulously researching their histories, and this highly readable account is the result. Many were reviled and persecuted by the secular and church authorities. Others fell prey to extremes, but they all began with the conviction that Scripture alone is sufficient and authoritative for the organisation of their churches.
