Description
Henry Martyn could have had a very distinguished career in law but, inspired by the work of Carey and Brainerd, dedicated himself to missionary work and Bible translation in India and Persia. This account of his life draws on his private Journal to reveal his own intense spiritual struggles and his tireless efforts in translating the New Testament into Hindustani, Persian, and Arabic, often whilst suffering from debilitating fatigue and illness.
Martyn died aged thirty-one, – his short life of self-sacrifice and concern for souls remains an inspiration.
