IN SOCCER parlance Hull City FC have constantly been classified as ‘sleeping giants’ because they have invariably flattered to deceive and failed to fulfil their potential. Every so often they have emerged from their slumber to go through highly-successful periods when they have proved to their solid fan base that they do have the makings of a big-city club. But more frequently they have also had their comatose spells when they have unerringly failed to live up to expectations and have frustrated their faithful followers. This is the story of Hull before all of the Premiership glory and Cup Final appearance which followed and shows where the club came from.
