Description

In response to the increasing interest and awareness of Burford’s rich heritage and thirst for further information, a selection of these works has been gathered together and published under the general title of Burford Papers. The individual subjects are as follows:

• The Burford Device – the impression of the seal of the Corporation of Burford
• Burford: Parish, Manor and Town – a summary of the town’s governance over the ages
• The Great Burford Smallpox Outbreak 1758 – few places were more seriously affected by this endemic scourge than Burford
