Description
‘Does a tarot reading actually work?’ ‘How do the cards know what I’m thinking?’
The TOMAR Tarot Manual has been designed to answer these popular questions. Exploring philosophical ideas from ancient Egypt to 20th-century Jungianism, studying the history of Western esotericism that has shaped magic, reason, and so tarot.
Created for the thoughtful beginner, the TOMAR’s five-book structure takes us from a simple grounding in ‘tarot reading’ to the more complex esoteric systems now found in the tarot deck. Hint: This is the good stuff that explains why a tarot reading could work. Subjects include archetypal astrology, Ancient Greek philosophy, Platonism, Neoplatonism, Theurgy (Divine Magic), Renaissance Hermeticism, Mysticism, Kabbalah and spiritual Alchemy.
So, if you are just beginning your tarot journey, or you know a little bit more, the TOMAR manual will develop your tarot reading skills and, if you want it to, open a gateway to a wider magical practice shaped by you for you. Because once you understand why the ancient systems in the tarot deck are there, you’ll know the secrets of magic, the cosmos, and beyond.
N.B. There is a TOMAR Tarot Deck that accompanies this manual; however, it is not necessary to have the TOMAR Deck to understand the Manual. The TOMAR manual has been devised to explore the big ideas behind tarot, so it will complement use with most other tarot decks.
