Description
This coherent collection of poems, mostly in order of composition, charts the author’s growing acquaintance with an area of local countryside in West Oxfordshire, after decades of living, working and commuting in London. The journey of discovery was rudely interrupted by the imposition of two huge planning proposals not quite in his own back yard, but right next door. The subsequent encounter with the planning system prompted a series of poems that are interspersed with the ‘countryside’ ones.
