Description
A trip across America was the inspiration for this fun collection, though many of the scenarios could be applied to cities and landscapes elsewhere. As the train chugged across the country, there was a definite C major feel to the sound of the horn every time it passed a level crossing or met a freight train. Moods change throughout the book, from the steady beat of “On Track” to the sassy feel of “Switchback”. Elements of Northern folk dance can be heard in “Across the Prairie” whilst “Stroll on Main Street” and “River Crossing” have a bluesy air. Each ‘track’ is meant to be very different, depicting the varied landscape.
