Thomas Buchanan practised as an aurist in Hull at a time when diseases of the ear were barely a specialty. These Physiological Illustrations examine the structure and action of the hearing organ, with particular attention to the membrana tympani, and set out the treatment of the deafness he saw in practice.This is a faithful print-on-demand facsimile of the 1828 edition, reproduced in full from a library copy. The historical text is reproduced without modification; only the format, margins and legibility have been reset for modern printing.
