MURDER IN ICE

It’s December in snowy Lapland, and the Northern Lights shimmer across the sky. The Polar Night has settled in – the darkest time of the year – when the sun barely rises above the horizon.

Criminal investigator Saana Valkeapää is helping her family launch a new course centre. But the first course – a workshop on building a traditional shaman drum – is abruptly disrupted when a body is discovered. The murder sends shock waves through the tight-knit community and plunges the case into a world of mysticism, ancient beliefs, and tangled relationships.

Detective Inspector Heikki Tuunanen is brought in to support the overstretched Lapland police. Together with local officer Kuura Jänkälä, he begins to unravel a deeply complex mystery. Suspects abound – and a persistent rumour claims the killer may not be human at all, but the mythical flesh-eating wolf, Stállu.
