At its heart, Maker of Silence explores the deep kinship between poetry and pottery.

The poems invite the reader to imagine the shaping of a pot, to feel the mystery of hands working in clay, to dwell in the pauses that turn presence. There are no photographs of pottery here. It is an imagination, guided by word and by silence.
