Description
Louis-Gaston de Ségur (1820-1881), son of the Comtesse de Ségur, went blind at thirty-six and spent the rest of his life preaching and writing for ordinary readers. These familiar instructions, given as evening lectures, walk through the truths of religion one by one in short chapters and a conversational voice, with none of the apparatus of the seminary. They were widely translated; this is the London edition of Burns & Oates, volume two of two. This is a faithful print-on-demand facsimile of the 1863 edition, reproduced in full from a library copy. The historical text is reproduced without modification; only the format, margins and legibility have been reset for modern printing.
