Exhortation-a-day is a year-long companion to the Bible Companion readings, designed to help the Word move from reading into reflection, prayer and everyday discipleship.

For each day of the year, one exhortational theme is drawn across the assigned readings — bringing together commands, contrasts, promises and Biblical pictures and asking what they mean for the way we think, speak and live.

The book is not intended to replace the daily readings. Read the passages first, then use the day’s exhortation to look again, make connections and carry one central thought with you into the rest of the day.
