Along with journaling prompts, this workbook provides reminders for physical self-care, along with mood tracking, and a place for daily affirmations, including a spot for notes at the end of each day, where you can pore over what you can do better, and provide for yourself a sense of accountability without focusing on failures. Along that same vein, this journal is not dated on purpose. You fill out the date when you journal. If you miss a day, come back to it when you’re ready. Unlike so many journals, it is not designed for you to have to skip around to fill out weekly and monthly, goals. It is also not a planner. Essentially, it is a work in progress, as we are. Some weeks, you might not use the free-writing pages, some weeks you might. Others, you may doodle on multiple doodle pages, or you might not use the daily planner at all. It is whatever you need it to be to best serve you. Ideally, you will journal daily, and end the week with a free-writing exercise, or doodle. The key here is that this journal is intended to support the way you want to journal. There’s also research pointing to the fact that a sense of accomplishment is self-actuating and motivating. Go into it knowing that however you use this journal, it is a personal win.
