Description
On the far side of first contact, the crew of Aurora I enters a galaxy that watches, judges, and waits. Altered by Silicate resonance and forever marked by the choices of their earlier mission, Victoria Carter and her shipmates find themselves ambassadors at a crossroads.
During delicate negotiations with the enigmatic Chelari, the predatory Draxathi shadow every move. Earth’s political fractures threaten to follow them into the stars, the Aurora I’s hybrid crew must prove their unity and restraint under relentless scrutiny.
Trust is tested through alien protocols, trials of emotional control, and the constant threat of being used or destroyed for what they’ve become. Amid rituals of consent and the tension of possible war, they navigate the perilous distance between new allies and lurking predators, discovering that peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but a discipline forged one act of faith at a time.
In a universe where every gesture is watched, and every flaw could spark catastrophe, the Aurora’s survival depends on a single, fragile promise: whatever the future brings, they will face it together.
