Description
A stolen star. A villainous doughnut. Three gingerbreads who must save their world.
Somewhere in the emptiness of space hangs the Egg Complex — home to a remarkable civilisation of gingerbreads. At its heart, something extraordinary is growing: a mysterious star, created from the special sugar contributed by generations of gingerbreads.
Then Dax Doughnut arrives.
Supremely Sprinkled, thoroughly unpleasant and equipped with an army of pastry minions, Dax steals the star for plans of his own. The Egg Complex is left damaged, one young guardian is missing, and the gingerbreads’ entire world is in danger.
Rose and Celereece know what they have to do. They set out across space on floating eggshells to find Dax and bring the star home.
Thawnton Thatcher Twig knows what he has to do too: stay somewhere safe.
Unfortunately for Thawnton, things don’t quite work out that way.
Before long, all three are heading towards Dax’s enormous doughnut factory, where the Pastry Patrol is waiting and something much bigger is beginning to unfold. Because the stolen star isn’t quite what Dax thinks it is — and neither are the three gingerbreads.
Packed with absurd humour, strange worlds, danger and unexpected heart, An Egg Full of Gingerbreads is a comic fantasy adventure about friendship, courage, responsibility and discovering that you may be capable of considerably more than you imagined.
For readers aged 9–13, this standalone adventure is the prequel to the Galacta-star series — and this is where everything begins.
