I AM ME: ALWAYS CHANGING
…when things don’t stay the same
Things change.
The weather changes. Seasons change. Our bodies grow. The things we like can change. Our thoughts change. Our feelings change. Even the things we do can change — sometimes without us noticing.
And sometimes change can feel exciting, confusing, frustrating or unexpected.
ALWAYS CHANGING gently invites children to notice the changes happening all around them — and within themselves — without telling them that change is something they need to fix or be afraid of.
Through a simple, beautifully illustrated story, children are encouraged to think about how they have grown, what they can do now that they couldn’t do before, how their feelings and thoughts can change, and how some things can change without us even noticing.
But perhaps the most important question is this:
If so many things change… what stays the same?
The story then opens into an interactive space where children can stop for a moment, notice, draw, doodle, write, remember and explore their own experiences. They can think about who they were, who they are becoming, what has changed — and what still feels wonderfully, recognisably them.
There is no right or wrong way to use the pages.
This is your book.
Part of the I AM ME collection, ALWAYS CHANGING follows the same gentle philosophy as UPPYSIDE DOWN — creating space for children to explore life, feelings and themselves without needing to have all the answers.
Because growing up means changing.
And sometimes the most reassuring thing a child can discover is that even when lots of things change, they are still themselves.
The I AM ME collection includes books and additional resources created to help children gently explore life, feelings, change and themselves as growing humans. Further resources for children, parents and teachers can be found at the I AM ME website.
