Inspired by the songs my father sang to us around the open fire, I have written this book to preserve a piece of our culture and teach a lesson for the future.
Retelling the story of greedy frogs roasting maize, I have combined memory with new creativity to produce a life lesson book in Chichewa (and translation). This book is designed to assist in teaching Chichewa to children, whether through a parent reading aloud or by listening to the recorded author’s voice.
By encouraging language learning, my goal is to promote and preserve our cultural identity for the next generation. Ultimately, I hope to spark a debate among children regarding the values of forgiveness and discipline. I hope you enjoy this labor of love.
