Birds gather to mourn the phoenix and the turtledove in William Shakespeare’s poem. Their love joins two distinct beings and unsettles the boundaries of identity, beauty, and truth. This edition brings together the complete English poem and its Japanese translation, from the funeral summons to the closing lament and prayer.
