D. R. Johnson lives in a charming little town in Rutland, England’s smallest county – a setting that closely mirrors the world of the cozy murder mystery series, The Shepton Rise Murders.
Before becoming a writer, he had a career as a textile designer and lectured in printed textiles at various UK art schools and universities, before leaving it all behind in search of new adventures.
The writing journey began with the Stuck series, a historical time-travel adventure inspired by the kinds of stories he would have loved as a child. This was followed by The Rebel Runaways, a Victorian alternative history trilogy with a touch of steampunk.
More recently, D. R. Johnson has discovered a real passion for crafting cozy murder mysteries. The first four books in The Shepton Rise Murders series have been published, and the next instalment is currently in progress.
