Water figures predominantly in many of his works, as does a sense of rhythm and movement through repeating shapes and colours. He writes a weekly column for the 'Western People' newspaper entitled 'Sketch Notes” and published his first novel `The Hunger House' in 2017. The novel is his first foray into the realm of historical fiction and is inspired by family stories and incidents uncovered while researching content for his newspaper articles. His second novel, 'The Hungry Water' follows through on the characters and storylineHe has exhibited in Galway, Dublin, New York and Rome.He lives in Castlebar, County Mayo with his wife Deirdre and son Colin.
