Description
In 1960 Leon Aiken is falsely accused of rape by a Mrs Rathbone-Gower. He is found guilty and sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment.
His innocence was never doubted by his wife Alice or his two sons John, then 13, and Peter, 10. The family is devastated.
John recalls the events and years that follow. At 18, a police sketch artist and a passionate chess player, he is inspired to use these skills to prove his fathers’ innocence and free him. He then becomes distracted by a young woman and sees through a police station window.
With just two pieces, he plays his first move…..
The outcome proves to be more than he expected.
