Description
By 1981 the chips were cheap, the factories were ready and the arcades were packed. What followed was the golden age of the handheld.
The Glow of the Game: Volume Two covers 1981 to 1985 and beyond: Epoch’s Astro Wars, Coleco’s tabletop Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, Nintendo’s Game & Watch, Tomy’s Tomytronic 3-D, the crash of 1983 and the odd ones out that came before and after.
All 114 games are photographed from the author’s own collection. Each has its own double-page spread: a full-page photograph, the story behind the game, how it plays, its specifications and three interesting facts. The book also includes the full glossary of manufacturers across both volumes.
A4 hardback, full colour throughout, 272 pages. Begin the journey in Volume One: 1972–1980.
