Wolves of the Sea

Description

Bound for Cayenne, an old cruiser carries a cargo of convicts across a violent Atlantic, its cages packed with desperate men and its guards poised behind revolvers. Among them is a prisoner kept in irons below deck, a man whose reputation for escape and defiance has turned the ship’s officers into insomniacs.

When secret bottles of rum appear inside the locked cages, the convicts sense that someone is orchestrating more than a simple distraction. Whispers pass from cage to cage: arms, a rising, a chance to seize the vessel and become masters of the sea. The captain struggles to keep order while his lieutenant demands harsher discipline, but neither can identify the hand guiding the unrest.</p><p>As storm and mutiny close in, every guard, sailor, and prisoner must decide how far they will go for freedom—or survival.
