Description
Within the cloistered walls of a convent, art student Sandro Botticelli steals a kiss from a beautiful schoolgirl.
It’s a moment that will ignite an obsession. As Sandro hones his craft, the enigmatic girl transforms into a woman trapped by societal expectations, her desire for dance stifled. Years later, their paths cross again, and Sandro is consumed. He pours his yearning for Simonetta onto the canvas, immortalising her in his art. But their love is a dangerous masterpiece, painted with deprivation, interference, infidelity, and even the threat of death. In a city pulsing with Humanist ideals, Catholic repression, and Medici ambition, can their love survive the forces that conspire to tear them apart? Discover a forbidden love that defies time itself.
An ekphrastic, historical fiction about the permanent nature of love set in Renaissance Florence, Sandro & Simonetta delivers the reader into the centre of Botticelli’s passions and paintings.
