Ernest Haycox (1899–1950) was an American author of Western and historical fiction. He published numerous novels and short stories in magazines like Collier’s and The Saturday Evening Post. His story “Stage to Lordsburg” was adapted into the classic film Stagecoach. Haycox is celebrated for his realistic portrayals of the Old West and his skillful storytelling.
